What A Thousand Versions Of You, Want You To Know…
This month's note is arriving later than usual.
After a hot, lovely, but slightly triggering trip to Greece (more of that another time), life asked me to slow down — shingles came, bringing pain but also a deep invitation to listen.
As I slowed down, I was guided to this poem by Emory Hall. It felt like medicine. May it land for you too:
Poem by Emory Hall.
Listening
My illness felt like an agitation, deeper than the skin irritation and temperature.
Agitation is real (yes, I spoke about this in my July monthly newsletter to my subscribers when I met author and Spiritual guide, Rebecca Campbell).
It carries a message (I obviously didn't listen enough).
It has a voice. It has a gift (I now accept, as it's chasing me down!).
For me, that meant sitting with the thousand versions of myself.
Offering forgiveness. Giving thanks. Remembering: they're the bones of who I am, and the Protectors, even when they erupted in ways that hurt.
What next?
The next step isn't to be ruled by those past selves and agitation— but to let them offer a lens for how I choose to step forward now.
So I also invite in curiosity. Exploration. What feels right for me in this moment?
And so, my offering for you today is simple - especially if you are trying to release and move forward:
Reflect with forgiveness, with all the versions of you.
Listen with compassion, even if it's hard.
Let curiosity be your ally — whether you find yourself in pain, judgment, or gratitude.
A Reminder From The Angels
On Friday, 5th September, I sat in St James Church, Piccadilly, London, listening to Kyle Grey — the newspapers call him “The boy who speaks to angels.”
Kyle was genuine, funny, and inspiring as he spoke of Mother Mary of Mercy and Miracles, and yes, a few angels.
His reminder echoed what my body was already teaching me:
We are not alone.
We have sovereignty in our healing, and the angels respond when we ask.
So I wonder… what would happen if we asked today?
What would your angels whisper to you right now?
How might they hold you, even when fear or shadow rises?
What one courageous step is asking to be taken, so you live closer to your truth?
The thousand versions of you may resist or celebrate. They may warn, or doubt, or cling. But thank them, bless them — and then act with courage anyway. Your future self will thank you.
A Little Proverb For The Path
A Chinese proverb says:
“If you get on the wrong train, get off quickly - as the return journey is more expensive.”
Are you heading in the right direction?
What trains are you still sitting on? What have you already paid? And what might freedom cost you now?
Closing reflections
Seven days on from my own eruption, I'm healing. Perhaps it was the five tablets per day, and I caught it early. But I also believe it was the communion with self —deep listening; The choosing of gratitude for being healed before I healed—and the quiet trust that angels were close.
As Nina Simone sang: “I'm feeling goooood.”
Over to you: Monthly Self-Reflection Prompts, or Reach out…
Monthly reflection prompts below, but I'm here if you need me to regulate your nervous system, so you can safely meet that agitation and question the parts of you that hold the shadow.
For the shadow is the gift that opens to our purpose, that leads to our authentic, healed selves. That is our wisdom.
For those who are astrologers, it’s Eclipse season, A perfect day to release the parts that hold you back, known and unknown, conscious and unconscious. So sit in ritual - all you need to do is breathe from your heart and let it all go!
Go Flow.
